What Is The Most Important Thing In Website Design?

share this:

When you visit a website, there are certain things happening at a subconscious level which affect your degree of trust for that site. You’re taking in the entirety of it all – from design to branding, right?

Well then, what is the most important thing to consider when visiting a website? You know, that added component that ensures you’re in capable hands?

Before we get to the big reveal, allow me to paint a picture for you that I’m guessing you’ll consider relatable…

You visit a website from your phone and find yourself forced to move the image to the right to see where the log in is, and then move it back to the left to see where the drop down menu is. Honestly, I’m a relatively patient person, but I find this to be super annoying!

Now granted, I may wrong, but, at such occurrences, my opinion is that this must be an outdated company.

The brand owner is obviously not in touch with the fact that the rest of the world is looking at things from their mobile device!

Listen, when I’m on a website via my phone and it’s not user friendly, I assume they’re not thinking about the customer’s experience.

Which leads me to the answer to the above question: Mobile responsiveness.

If you’re not familiar with the term “mobile responsive,” it simply means that whatever it is people are looking at – whether it’s a website or an opt-in page – changes sizes (i.e., fits the screen) to reflect what type of device it’s being viewed from:

  • Smartphone
  • Tablet
  • Laptop
  • Desktop

Look, 90% of us are using the internet from our phones. Searching for data, shopping, work, etc. For many, cell phones might as well be a third limb!

This means, surely, that everything people view through their mobile device SHOULD adjust accordingly.

And when it does… oh, what a beautiful thing it is!
