What to do in the Event of an Overeating Emergency

It’s easy to walk in to a party thinking you’ve got it all figured out… that you’ve got plenty of self control.  But one drink in, your inhibitions lessen and all of a sudden your throwing down baby brownies likes it’s no ones business.  So here’s what to do in the case of an over eating emergency.

Tip 1 – Instead of “Stop the bleeding!”… “Stop the eating!” I know too many people who have a bad eating day and the attitude turns into “I might as well eat the whole pie.” All of those calories add up!  And your body then has to figure out what to do with all of the extra calories you just ingested.

Tip 2 – Forgive yourself.  We all emotionally eat, over eat, and have bad days.  Don’t beat yourself up.  It’s just one day.  Your human.  Don’t compare yourself to the perfect images on social media.

Tip 3 – Replace your pity party with a plan.  Get rid of the negative self talk and grab a piece of paper and pen and schedule your next day.  Call or text a friend and let them know you need some extra motivation and that you want to get together for a workout!

Tip 4 – The day after, execute your plan!  This means when you get up the next day, get yourself presentable and get ready to sweat.  The next day, the best workout is moderate state intensity cardio.  This isn’t the best fat burning method, however this is a great way to sweat it out and feel better! Your goal is 45 minutes to an hour.  Then follow it up with 15 minutes of yoga or piyo.

Tip 5 – What to put in your body to improve digestion.  Greens and water! High fiber, no meat, and drink a ton of water!!!!

Tip 6 – Stop eating an hour earlier than you normally do. In addition go to bed and hour earlier!
