The Right and Wrong Times to be on Your Phone
This CarSmart is all about phone etiquette. We all use our phones AND we all know that we use them way too much. They’re just super convenient. But do you ever get annoyed when you’re trying to have a conversation with someone and their attention is on their phone and not you? Or, have you been caught guilty of this yourself? Most likely. In this episode you’ll learn the steps you can take to assure your phone won’t get in the way of your important relationships.
As you may already know, my husband Bret and I run most of our business from our phones. For the longest time, I would get really frustrated and annoyed when Bret would be on his phone as I tried to converse with him. But then I realized, I would do the same thing to him too. Eventually, we decided to have a serious conversation about how we could approach our relationship with each other considering the interference of our phones. In this podcast, I will talk about some of the ground rules with our cell-phone usage that we established from that conversation.
What You Will Learn In This Podcast About Phone Etiquette:
- How to politely ask for attention. (5:30)
- Give people permission to finish up on their phone. (9:10)
- How to address when you are using your cellular device and it’s not helping you. ( 9:30)
- Why you shouldn’t start your day on social media. (10:00)
- And so much more!
Thank you for listening to this CarSmart episode. I hope you enjoyed it and that you feel more confident in addressing your struggles with cell phone usage in your relationships. Just a reminder, the very first thing you should do in the morning is spend time in thought. Once you wake up, you need to spend some time expanding your brain. That’s not gonna happen when you’re on social media.
